30th November

Today was the day we left KL and headed to Penang. We woke up at around 9:30 and started packing. We wanted to leave by 10:30 to catch the monorail and bus to the airport. We got our refund back for the key deposit and was on our way. We could not leave KL without getting our wonderful Dimsums. With all our luggage on our backs we walked to the monorail and was dying from the weight and the heat. We got to the Skybus and enjoyed to air-conditioned comfort ride. It was good to see the country side of Malaysia again. On the trip I looked back on all the great times we had in KL and was somewhat sad to leave it.

At the AirAsia terminal it was like a bus port. There was so many people and so many flights leaving to god knows where we made our way to check in. We made it just in time because check in was suppose to close just before we arrived at the counter. We ate our Dimsums in the airport and by this time they were cold but still yum yum.

The flight was really good and short. We could choose were we sat and Kate and I had a whole row to ourselves. The view outside the window was beautiful as you could see everything so clearly as there was hardly any clouds. The plain trip took 45 minutes so by the time it reached its peak altitude it was time to come down again. At the Penang international airport where we landed we got our luggage and had cheeseburgers from Mac Donalds.

We decided to catch a bus in the city and we thought that the place we were staying in (Hotel Mingood) was in Butterworth, but turns our Butterworth was on the main land and our hotel was in George Town. The bus driver was friendly enough to tell us when to get off. Having know clue where we were we got a taxi to our hotel from the bus terminal.
The hotel was surprisingly nice. With a large room, TV and private ensuite with a bath. We had a three hour nap upon arrival cause we were both so stuffed from last night. Then we went to have dinner at this famous Penang open food court//market called Red Garden. There I ordered this huge glass of milo which would have been like 1L. It was funny. We had fried rice (so good) and I also had chicken wings (OHHH SO GOOD). We got some drinks and other stuff on the way home at the “HAPPY SOMETHING” shop. Came home and went on the internet. Wasn’t a very eventful day today but was good to have a rest and be in a new location.
