Today was our great shopping expedition. We woke up early with high expectation of spending up little and getting a lot with the massive savings offered KL wide. The first stop at 10am (when the shops opened) was Pavilion. We went in and after 20 min or so we were out of there because it was a upper class shopping centre with extremely expensive brands such as Gucci and crap. They had a really nice huge Christmas tree out the front of it but.
With Jusco in mind because we knew they had big sales on we made our way through stores to get to the monorail to find a Jusco store. What I thought was a stop on the monorail turned out to be a different suburb to what Jusco was in. A little disappointed we made our way to this massive 8 story mall in times square. We wondered around looking at shops for an hour or so and didn’t buy anything because the sales were disappointing and there was nothing new that we couldn’t buy in Australia. Reaching the end of one floor to our surprise we saw a rollercoaster track along the wall. We were like what the hell! We went up a few stories to discover that there was a theme park within the shopping centre. The rollercoaster looked sooo awesome. After much thought about whether to go in or not, we decided we had to because the possibility of finding a theme park in another shopping centre on our travels was limited. The park was pretty empty and the number of rides there was limited. But the rollercoaster was really fun. The fact that it was indoors probably made it seem a lot better too. The rollercoaster was the longest indoor rollercoaster in Asia. After going on the rollercoaster we went on the bumper cars then this ride similar to ranger I think its called at the royal show (it is similar too bounties revenge but has the seats on both sides). After that ride I was feeling nauseous. To top it off I was willing to go on the roller coaster again. (bad idea haha). I really needed food to calm my stomach and anyway we were both starving. There was a sushi train restaurant next door and we thought hell yeh. Inside was so Japanese with the cups of tea etc. Each plate was colour coded to represent how much that cost. Of course we chose the cheapest colours because we are cheap lol and plus we didn’t like all the fancy seafood stuff. We enjoyed the meal there and I was still feeling pretty sick. We left the theme park and made our way home.
The monorail we wanted to catch was not operating for some reason and knowing that our destination was only one stop away we decided to walk. Before we went home we entered another shopping centre called Sungei Wang shopping centre. This is were I bought Kim’s Christmas present because I hadn’t seen anything like it in Australia. On the main stage area there was some break dancing competition. It was amazing to see their tricks. Also it was world aid awareness day and we were both given ribbons to show our support for the cause.
With nothing more specific to do Kate wanted to have a look at the teen fashion level on the top floor (level six). We saw some pretty funny and funky clothes. One of them had a picture of a girl and said something like “Have I told you I was a lesbian”. I loved it so much and wanted to buy it but was a girls top so thought nah. One this floor is were we had dinner. There was this teen-y restaurant called Gasoline. They had the coolest drinks. Kate ordered ______ with jelly because she had been wanting Bubble tea with jelly since we’d arrived. I ordered this plum and raspberry drink. It was so massive and overflowing. It was also soooo good. The food was pretty standard but the drinks made up for it.
Getting back to our hostel I slept for a few hours because I was really tired. I woke up to find Kate on the floor packing and eating jelly. Tonight was our big clubbing night so we had a few pre-drinks of vodka and beer. We were laughing so much at the most randomise stuff. Finally we were both ready to hit the town. We arrived at the Beach club, the most popular club in Asia. We paid the 35RM cover fee each and went in to find it was similar to the Newport. Everyone was having a great time including us, then the live band came on. We both agreed to move on at this stage because we both weren’t a big fan of live music. We only had 30RM left because we only took 100RM just in case we got robbed or pick pocketed. The next club, Aloha, was the same club we went to on Wednesday night and the entrance fee was the same but somehow if we bought a drink we could get in with just the drink. We could only afford the cheapest drink and that was orange juice. Expensive orange juice at 18RM each. At this time there was only two people on the dance floor and I was like stuff it I’m going to dance. Kate came on for a while but left because she felt awkward. Due to the lack of people we went back to the Beach Club. We stayed there and listened to the R&B music they play everywhere. A really fat black dude wanted to dance with Kate bahahaha but I just told him she was my girl friend and he backed off (a little bit) haha. The live band came on again so we made our way back to Aloha.
This time it was packed and everyone was pretty much dancing. The same music played as played at the Beach Club which was disappointing and the music seemed to be in the exact same order as on Wednesday night. What made the club worse was the amount of people smoking in it. My eyes were sore from the smoke. We tried to get free water but they said they don’t serve it so we stole ice from peoples ice buckets lol. We left that club at 2am and walked home. We were both stuffed by then and crashed in bed. The day was pretty jam packed.
